One Year

Hi! I can't believe my last post was on Nov 2012! How time flies! It is now Nov 2013. So many things happened just within a year.

  • Cut off contact with certain people, left past behind
  • Joined a Chinese Club
  • Made new friends
  • Mom came to Auckland for the first time
  • Met Mr. T
  • Marsha finally came to Auckland with her parents
  • Wonderful first trip with Mr. T, stayed his family for 4 days 3 nights
  • Stopped going to church because I didn't feel like going but my faith doesn't change
  • Awesome gatherings with Mr. T and friends
  • Friends left for faraway countries including A
  • Managed to be in touch with someone I fell out of friendship with
  • Became a bridesmaid for 2 weddings
  • Birthday this year is very special! 3 cakes, 3 celebrations! How blessed!
  • Took official Spanish subject (at uni) level 1A and passed with an A woohoo! Might take 1B if I have electives left. Muy bien.
  • Great Uncle passed away recently. He was part of my childhood and memories of my hometown.

Birthday 1 at church:
As I mentioned above, I didn't go to church for months. Nevertheless, I received a call saying that they'd like to celebrate my birthday. I felt guilty but was determined to go to church because of my own will not because of other people so I put my guilt aside, shamelessly went to church just for my birthday. They prepare a cake, snacks and heaps of mooncakes!!!! Some people who don't usually go to church came especially for me! Thank you, M & A for remembering and preparing the whole party! *on cloud nine*

Birthday 2 at karaoke bar:
It was a birthday party for me and early birth day celebration for Miss A. It was supposed to be a secret but I had a hunch that there will be a "surprise" party for me. Something happened, got Mr. T to come and accompany me. We were playing card games then I excused myself to the washroom. A few minutes after I came back, everyone sang a birthday song right at 12 midnight >.< Overall, I feel very touched with their good intention, effort and determination to make it successful. Thank you, everyone!

Birthday 3 at Mr. T's:
Spent birthday with Mr. T & a group of girlfriends. In the morning, Mr. T took me out for ice cream and Kelly Tarlton's Sea Life Aquarium. Finally! We've been wanting to go there for ages!

In the evening, all the girls cooked one dish each, including she who don't usually cook >.< so touched! It was assignment period but they spared time for me anyway. They also bought snacks! Their dishes are so amazing  and they are all younger than me except Mr. T and a girl. Why can't I cook like them T-T Oh, right! Mr. T whipped up 2 dishes for me! Scooped rice into heart shape *flies*

He made a 3 layered cake for me (which took him whole day), each with different flavour! He hand-carved the stencils for 3 hours at dawn.

He didn't have enough sleep for a few days because he to juggle between tests, assignments, his secret birthday plans for me and right on the night before something happenned that he came running (literally) at 11pm because of me in the storm, stayed out until approximately 2:30am before he went home.

On this day too, around 8pm, the group from birthday 2 requested to come over to my place to spend more time until my birthday is officially over. Wow! Everyone, including Mr. T were so tired but they still came anyway till late at night.

Of course, I'm also grateful for those who wished me through texts, calls, Facebook, etc. Thank you everyone! I feel so loved!

Future events I look forward to:
  • The possibility of getting a summer job (please pray for me)
  • Starting from tomorrow I'll be living with Mr. T
  • Will be travelling to Mr. T's hometown, spend Xmas & New Year with his family!
  • Dad and sis might come on Jan

Mr. T decided to move back to his hometown permanently because his family is there and better career prospects. It is sad but it is also for our future. Now both of us have to work hard for each other. It feels so good because we have each other and are working towards the same goals. He said he will wait for me. I'm grateful that he is willing to continue our relationship. God, please give us your blessings and protection. Amen.

Mr. T will move to my place tomorrow. Living together with him (about 2-3 weeks) and THEN his family (a month) is a big step forward. I'm excited but yet nervous. I've never met his dad and I was told that he is very curious and eager to meet me. Please pray for me so that everything goes smoothly not just with his dad but also with his entire family, relatives and friends that I'm going to meet.

I can't thank God enough for the angels he sent. My friends, near and far so very kind, generous and amazing. I feel extremely privileged and blessed to have such people around. My parents are healthy and able to support me and siblings financially. I can afford to spend for entertainment and yummy food etc. I feel lucky everyday.

I hope 2014 will be better or at least as good as 2013.
